THE BLOOD SCION Blurb:

I was just a reporter, trying to stay ahead of my student loans. I knew the rules, and I followed them. I thought I knew how the world worked—humans lived their petty little lives in the safety of the sun. We loved and fought and—when the sun sank—we scurried behind our walls and lived in fear.

That is when the monsters came out to play. And even in the safety of the sun, we knew who ruled us. The Houses. And their Scions. Everyone knows the great Houses and their Scions—they are feared and loved and hated and envied. They are the gods who walk the shadows and rule all of our lives.

They are salvation and death.

And somehow, I am one of them.

REVIEW

What I liked: the idea of a horrible virus destroying the world and the vampires saving it before the end. I did see a similar pattern on Julie Kagawa's "Immortal Rules" but that one is a different story.

There are parts in the book, which seperate the double POV. That of O and Farley. There is a complex world building about the Houses and their classes, as also there is mystery and some plot twists. What I always liked about Nazarea's writing is the unplanned plot. I now what I am gong to read but she always manages to create something different which also surprises me. Fast paced but in need of more action, this is a good beginning in her new series!

THE SCIONLESS HOUSE Blurb:

Twelve Houses. Twelve vampire lines. We ruled from the shadows, and manipulated the world, and when humans came too close to destruction, we intervened. Every House has a Scion. A fragile, easily broken human that stood shoulder to shoulder with the house Princes and Princesses. Except for ours. The Ravens, House Cantelie. We've been without a Scion for almost fifteen years. But that will change...and her life will be mine to protect.

Here’s the same old “girl posing as a boy” story but with a rock-n-roll twist.
Remy Curran dreams of one day being in a band, except the group she wants to join refuses to hire a girl drummer. So, she auditions as a guy...and makes the cut.
Becoming “Sticks,” a member of Non-Castrato, isn’t quite what she dreamed it would be, though. She spends most of her time keeping up the subterfuge and learning how to walk, talk, act, and drink like a man.
But what’s even harder to deal with is acting oblivious when the band’s heartthrob lead singer, Asher Hart, treats her like one of the guys and not a woman. She never imagined he’d be so much more than a pretty face with a nice voice. But he’s better than perfect. He’s perfect for her.
When love and lies combine, Remy must keep up the act or lose everything. But who knew lying to reach one dream could prevent you from attaining an even bigger dream?

Feature and Follow #281

Welcome to the Feature & Follow

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow me and them to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code at the host blogs and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

                            Question of the Week:

Black Friday Eve! You have $100 (or pounds or whatever your currency is) to spend on books. What are you going to buy? - Suggested by Alison Can Read

                                                        My answer:

That's a good question! There are many books from 2016 which are already on my TBR list (around 196 I thnk!) but the money would go to some books which had great impact, especially when I first began reading and blogging almost two years ago.

(the covers will take you to Amazon)

Firstly, I would get all the books by Jodi Meadows

If you haven't read her first series "NewSouls" you should know that her writting style and the teachings she gave me through those books were simply majestic. Ana, Sam and all her characters are some of my favorites!

Next I would get ILLUMINAE. Nothing can describe my feels over this book which I had the chance to read two months earlier from its release as an ARC. The hardback has already a high spot on my list!

And lastly, I am getting all the "Starbound" series! They have action, diverse characters and lots of sci-fi!

There are also other books I'd love to get from authors like Beth Revis, Maggie Stiefvater and Veronica Rossi but the above have a sweet spot in my heart! The sequel of "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Mass has been already pre-ordered, so I am in a good mood!
